Lesson overview
Everything in Scripture points toward Jesus—His life, death, resurrection, and reign. In this lesson we survey the Gospel according to Matthew’s closing commission and ask how Christ remains the center of our preaching, counseling, and daily obedience in the local church.

Teaching notes
- Authority first. Jesus sends us because all authority is His (v. 18). Mission is not powered by our personality.
- Disciples, not decisions alone. Baptism and teaching obedience form a lifelong path—disipulo, not merely a raised hand.
- All nations, starting near. For IBCP churches, “nations” includes dialects and peoples across our islands and beyond.
- Presence promised. We go with courage because Christ is with us always.
